Miller Heiman® programme
Conceptual Selling with Perspective
Conceptual Selling® with Perspective is the Miller Heiman® programme for planning every customer meeting. On the Green Sheet, sellers set a valid business reason, plan the questions to ask and the perspective to share, and leave each meeting with clear commitments, building on the deal strategy from Strategic Selling®. Transdefy delivers it in Dubai and across the GCC.

Who it is for
For anyone who meets customers
The programme gives every seller a simple, repeatable structure for each meeting. It helps most when your team:
- 01
Goes into customer meetings without a written plan
- 02
Leaves meetings without a clear next step from the customer
- 03
Presents what you sell before understanding what the buyer wants
- 04
Asks the same questions in every meeting
- 05
Finds it hard to differentiate your solution in the room
- 06
Spends meeting time that doesn’t move the deal forward
Why it matters
Don’t leave customer interactions to chance
Your team’s edge in the market depends on what happens in front of the customer. Conceptual Selling® with Perspective prepares sellers for every meeting with the buyer’s needs in mind, so they come across as a valued resource. It builds on the strategic analysis from Strategic Selling® with Perspective, so what sellers present matches what customers want.
In Korn Ferry’s 2024 Sales Maturity Survey, organisations that sell with Perspective reported 22% higher win rates, and sellers who align solutions to customer outcomes reported 16% higher quota attainment and 10% higher revenue attainment.

How the Green Sheet works
Four parts of every meeting plan
Each customer meeting gets its own Green Sheet, tied to the single sales objective from the Blue Sheet.
Focus on the customer
List each buying influence in the meeting with their role and concept: what they are trying to accomplish, fix or avoid. Set a valid business reason for the meeting from their point of view, and check your credibility.
Get information
Plan confirmation questions to open the meeting, new information questions to explore the issues, and attitude questions to understand each person’s opinions and feelings.
Give information
Decide the perspective to share in this meeting and your unique strengths, each tested with “So what?” and “Prove it!”
Get commitment
Close with commitment questions and agree the best and the minimum action commitment: what the customer will do as a result of the meeting. Basic issue questions bring any concerns into the open.
The five question types
Which question to ask, and when
The Green Sheet plans five types of question for every meeting.
| Question type | When to use it | Keywords |
|---|---|---|
| Confirmation | When to use itAt the start of every meeting, to confirm the valid business reason and the buying influence’s concept | KeywordsStill, remain, continue, now, currently |
| New information | When to use itTo explore the issues and the buying influence’s concept, and to get missing or unclear information | KeywordsWho, where, when, what, how much, how many, how, elaborate, show me, explain, describe, tell me |
| Attitude | When to use itTo understand each buying influence’s opinions and feelings, and the issues that matter to their concept | KeywordsWhat, how, which, describe, attitude, feeling, opinion, reaction |
| Commitment | When to use itAt the end of every meeting | KeywordsDecide, direct, schedule, determine, propose, provide, recommend, agree, secure |
| Basic issue | When to use itWhen you hear basic issue signals or a no to a commitment question, and in every opportunity, to make sure it is a win-win | KeywordsUncertain, issue, unclear, uncomfortable, puzzled, hesitant, concern, doubtful |

FAQs
Questions buyers ask
What is Conceptual Selling with Perspective?
A Miller Heiman® programme that helps sellers prepare for customer meetings, planned or impromptu. Each meeting is planned on the Green Sheet, building on the deal strategy from Strategic Selling® with Perspective.
What is the Green Sheet?
The meeting plan at the heart of the programme. It has four parts, focusing on the customer, getting information, giving information and getting commitment, around the single sales objective. Korn Ferry Sell now includes the Green Sheet.
What is a valid business reason?
The purpose of the meeting from the buying influence’s point of view. Sellers confirm it at the start of every meeting with confirmation questions.
What is a buying influence’s concept?
What that person is trying to accomplish, fix or avoid. The Green Sheet records it for each buying influence in the meeting.
What are action commitments?
What the customer will do as a result of the meeting. Sellers plan a best and a minimum action commitment before every meeting, and ask commitment questions at the end of it.
Do we need Strategic Selling first?
Conceptual Selling® with Perspective builds on the strategic analysis covered in Strategic Selling® with Perspective, and the Green Sheet uses the single sales objective from the Blue Sheet. Korn Ferry also offers the two as one combined programme.
Can it be run in-house for our team?
Yes. Transdefy delivers it on-site for B2B sales teams in the UAE and across the GCC. Korn Ferry lists on-site, instructor-led and digital delivery for the programme.
